Mrz 19

We have two teams. One team has five members the other team has 10 members. One of my collegues asked me why we don’t put the teams together and make a daily stand-up (daily scrum) with the whole team which will keep us from loosing information.
I cannot measure the transfer of information in the stand-up’s but measuring the time in the stand-up’s will look like this

Teams doing seperate stand-up’s
Team A: 5 members à 3 min = 15 min x 5 member = 1:15 hours
Team B: 10 members à 3 min = 30 min x 10 members = 5 hours
Together = 6:15 hours

Teams doing stand-up’s together
Team A & B: 15 Personen à 3 min = 45 min x 15 members = 11:15 hours
Together = 11:15 hours

The amount of time almost doubles. Preventing this timeloss can be done by establishing teams of equal size and having them do Scrum-of-Scrums on a daily basis with good structure on information exchange.
