Due to the changes in my professional life i’m on my way setting up my student group into an enviroment which will
- Communicate with others
- Shedule meetings and conferences
- Share information in the web
- Enable students and teachers to work collaboratively together
For going these steps i looked up the web and found the article Web 2.0 Backpack: Web Apss for Students. They mention in a good manner the pains we hab in the first days with WebCT, back then in the University of Heidelberg. They us moodle and .LRN right now.
As i am not faculty staff i will use free tools for working with my students and keep you posted here.
Hello
I’m Little MOO – the bit of software that will be managing your order
with us. It will shortly be sent to Big MOO, our print machine who will
print it for you in the next few days. I’ll let you know when it’s done
and on its way to you.…
You can track and manage your order at: https://secure.moo.com/account
Estimated Shipping Date: Tue 10 Nov 2009
Remember, I’m just a bit of software. So, if you have any questions
regarding your order please first read our Frequently Asked Questions

Getting loads of uncertain requirements from outside of your team working in agile scrum mode doing estimations will generate the need of having a method to clarify the uncertainty to get into proper estimations and planning again. Called Evaluation Peak in my former team the article on Iterative Timeboxing (ITB) by Azad Bolour described the problem and solution calles ITB.
In an Requirement Analysis Team we spend one whole day for an iterative timebox resulting in a light concept as well as a clearer view of what will have to be done and how much effort this might take.
I stumbled upon the following video which is telling from my heart what it means to plan and then follow that plan in a strict manner. Not knowing where to go on a strategic level might hinder you reaching your goal or even not recognizing you reached it.
Our research concept on a strategically designed persuasive tool for an iPhone has been accepted for the annual meeting of the swiss medical informatics association, the 11th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, the annual conference of medical informatics association germany and the annual conference of the informatics association germany. Congratulations to Prithu!
I have found a good, short (5 min) video on scrum basics. It gives an introduction on the roles, backlog, burndown chart and the daily stand-ups.
Today i did my first investment for Africa. I invested into the business of two women. One would like to increase her stock but she has inadequate capital. She therefore would like a loan to buy more fruits. This will boost both her sales and monthly turnover. The other wants to expand, stock more and increase the variety of shoes. This will enable her to meet her customers’ demand.
All in all it’s an interesting system which myc4.com offers in providing microloans to women and man in africa. You can define the amount you want to invest and the interest rate, so you can start small and support people in africa with your loan. Anyhow it worth a try.
Using Mobile Me to sync my calendars betweens my Macs and iPhone works great. When it comes to collaboration with other people i need a tool where they can edit my calendars. For this purpose i use Google Calendar which will result in manual work because Google does not allow calendars importet being edit by iCal. I found the great app BusySync from BusyMac to take care of these tasks. It works perfectly even when renaming calendars. It syncs, edits and updates all calendars and in addition if one does not have a mobile me account syncs the calendars between the macs. It’ definitely my favorite app for the weekend.
